Startup Preferences

This tab allows you to specify the locations of the default working directory and any startup file to be run.

Working Directory

This field allows you to set the initial working directory for future IDL sessions. The General Preferences tab contains a "Change Directory on Open" option, which also affects the working directory.

This control sets the value of the IDL_WDE_START_DIR preference (Windows) and the IDL_MDE_START_DIR preference (UNIX). For more information, see IDL Preferences.

Startup File

Use this field to specify the name of an IDL batch file to be executed automatically each time IDL is run. See Startup Files for additional details.

This control sets the value of the IDL_STARTUP preference. For more information, see IDL Preferences.
